The Project

The Student Commons are housed in a building originally designed for the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in 1909. Most recently, the building was occupied by the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape & Design.

Human Space* provided accessibility consulting to ensure the building’s new student amenities will be accessible to all students. New amenities include club space, rehearsal areas, student service offices, an eatery, multi-faith spaces, lounges and meeting rooms.

This project is being executed in close collaboration with the University of Toronto Student Union, in order to facilitate a final design that will serve students and provide a robust experience for all students including those with disabilities.

*This project was completed in joint venture with March of Dimes Canada under the name AccessAbility Advantage.
