About Us

We’re a collaborative of experts, architects and designers working with city builders and place makers to create spaces for all.

We believe in a human-centered approach to design that considers people first and incorporates broadest perspectives to arrive at better solutions. This means pursuing a comprehensive approach to city building that includes accessibility, wellness and social integration as essential components at all stages of the design process.

We are committed to delivering design solutions that go above and beyond traditional expectations and work with our clients to achieve their project goals in a way that benefits everyone. Our consulting work is grounded in over 30 years of architectural and interior design experience, with a team specialized to your needs.

Human Space is a division of BDP Quadrangle.

Human Space evolved from AccessAbility Advantage (A+), a joint venture between BDP Quadrangle and March of Dimes Canada launched in 2010. This team of accessibility specialists assisted organizations to comply with the accessibility standards under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and to improve overall accessibility for organizations across Ontario.

For over eight years, the joint venture worked successfully to provide consulting, auditing, and training services across both public and private sectors. A+ team members applied their in-depth knowledge in the areas of accessibility legislation, best practices, and universal design to serve over hundreds of clients across the province.

As of April 2018, BDP Quadrangle remains committed to increasing accessibility and inclusiveness in Canada through Human Space.

We believe that our built environment should engage with diversity to create inspirational spatial experiences for all users. We aim for a universal design approach that is seamless, beautiful and integrated.

We understand the need for design to stand the test of time. We consider the long-term sustainability of projects to foster wellness and promote healthy built environments.

People are at the core of our values. We take into account how a space can benefit those who inhabit it through participation, technology and design, fostering meaningful connections.
